Camp Memaw & Papa Joe: Day 1

The co-pilot, Mac
(he doesn't know he was photo-bombed)

After 2.5 days and approximately 1,300 trips from the house to the RV with armloads of "necessities," we are finally hitting the road for our first BIG family RV adventure.

Agenda:  Head east and drive until we can drive no more, then sleep.

The stress levels climbed up a slight incline until this morning, then BAM!$!@!, they skyrocketed to heights I've not seen before.  All of the planning and barking I do plays quite a toll on my family; specifically on my relationships with my family. I turn into a crazy blue (because I forget to breathe) ticking time-bomb with bulging neck veins.  At that point, I am sure that I am the epitome of "mom-trocious."

It's been a tough year since last summer, which has really taken a toll on us all.  I will continue to try to get hold of the emotion and stress that I spew all over my family.  My biggest wish for this trip is that we can all let go of the stresses we've put on ourselves this last year and relax; relax and get to know each other again.  I yearn to hear the laughter of little kids (and teenagers) again.  I long for them to want to be around me and to crawl up on my lap to snuggle again.
If you look closely, you can see all 4 kids (or at least a part of them) and the dog.  Happy searching!

So, with coffee cup and diet coke raised in the air, I toast my wonderful husband:  To us, ours, and serenity. . .
