Camp Memaw & Papa Joe: Days 2 & 3

Jeff driving Fat Amy.  He bought camo just
for the trip.  He really just wants to fit in with those
other Walmart campers.  Aren't we lucky?
Still driving.  Fat Amy has treated us well.

(SIDE NOTE:  We named the RV, "Fat Amy" because she's a big girl and she has a british accent.  (For those that haven't seen it, you really should see 'Pitch Perfect'.))  (I love it when I get the chance to do double parentheses!  Mostly, this fondness comes from the fact that my 7th grade English teacher said it was not legal.  I disagree.  I'll nest those parentheses 7 layers if I want to!!)

Day 1:
The first day was a little tricky.  Fuses were short.  Oh, don't worry, Fat Amy's fuses were fine.  It was Dad's that were not so fine.  I always find it takes a day or so to get acclimated to new surroundings.  Phew!  It's a good thing we have 3 days of this!

Walmart Camping
Night 1:
I hate to admit it, but we really DID stop and free-camp at a Walmart.  What?!  Don't judge!!  Sometimes you just need to stop driving long enough to sleep.  It was a bit disappointing, but that's what I get for setting expectations.  I camped out with my paparazzi camera aimed, just hoping to get next great shot for "People of Walmart."  It didn't happen.  Now that I think of it, we may have been the subject of one of those pictures.  It was the 6 a.m., straight out of bed family trip to use the restrooms that could be a winner.

Night 2:
We decided to uncage the dog and the kids, so we stopped at a KOA campground near Cooperstown, NY.  Here, we enjoyed beautiful scenery, a refreshing pool, and some seasoned neighbors, Bob and Claire, that we garnered oodles of camping knowledge from.

The night concluded with a bonfire, s'mores, a good ol' game of Yatzee, and a family viewing of the home-based tivo box.  That's right, folks!  You heard me right.  Jeff hooked up a "Sling Box" so that while camping (aka glamping), we don't have to miss our favorite shows.  Shows we couldn't live without this night:  'Deadliest Catch' and 'Prettiest Little Liars'.  (I'm not sure the last time those 2 shows were used in the same sentence.)

Day 2 & 3:
We found our groove.  I am hearing less fighting and more laughter.

Our groove . . .
Connor and Reagan Playing Mine Craft (together? weird.)

Post-Breakfast Snack (it's an important
meal when road-tripping)

"Sleeping Teenager" (I only posted one, but have many of
the same in different places, wearing different blankets.)

"Co-Pilot" (Reagan enjoyed helping Dad navigate)
Who doesn't need a little "Grand Theft Auto" in the RV?
(Actually, I'd prefer not to have any, but Connor needed some.)

Sister Movie Time (Yep, there's another one of the
"Sleeping Teenager" slipped in there for your viewing pleasure.)
 Our view from here . . .

The many faces of Macintosh . . .
